Fakhris Agro Resources was established in the year 2007 with a view to produce Fresh Produces (fruits, vegetables, and flowers) for export, fishery (hatchery and nursery) and poultry (hatchery for broiler and layers). This project shall go for frozen vegetables through IQF for export. This project is having a plan to produce Orchids (cut flowers and plants) and Live Ornamental Plants for export in 5 acres of land. FAR shall go for feed mill and contract farming of Fresh Produces including potato.

Fakhris are a well-established business family much before the partition of India. They are in automatic brick manufacturing, 100% export-oriented textile unit based in Chittagong Export Processing Zone, and Information Technology.

As regards to Fresh produce production, the company (a partnership company) shall produce high value fruits like BAU Kul, Apel Kul, & Thai kul in 40 acres of the land. The company aims at producing BAU Kul, Apel Kul, and Thai kul saplings (grafted) along with fruit production. The interspaces between the plants will be covered with essential organic oil producing grasses, like – lemon grass, citronella, etc. which works as excellent cover crops for erosion control in the hilly regions of the country.

For 30 acres of ZYZYPHUS MAURITIANA, plantation in 15 acres of land shall be done in 2007 and the remaining 25 acres for January 2008.

Fakhris have established a high & sophisticated management system for the production of this high value crop with genuine varieties of BAU kul, Apel kul, and Thai kul. Fakhris have entered into an agreement with Mr. Md. Shahjahan Ali Badhsha (Pepe Badhsha – 3 times National Award Winner) for the supply of 15000 nos of BAU kul, Apel kul and Thai kul saplings.

Fakhris shall maintain high crop management systems with fertilizers, biocides, and that too through developing a sophisticated irrigation system for the entire 30 acres of land earmarked for “ZYZYPHUS MAURITIANA.”

 

PRODUCTION, MANAGEMENT & MARKETING

To support the production, management and marketing of the whole operation, Mr. M. Ahsan Ullah, former National Production Specialist & Team Leader of Hortex Foundation, has taken over as the Chief Executive Officer with the Fakhris Agro Resources effective September 2007. Mr. M. Ahsan Ullah, was also the National Consultant, UNDP/ITC for fruits, vegetables and flowers. He brings in 40 years of experience in this field.
